Flooding in Manitoba is a fact. We have been battling floods since the 1800’s. Whether it be a very snowy winter and fast spring melt, or a flash flood in the middle of summer due to unexpected heavy rainfall. Over the years, and all over the province we have experienced flooding.
Rumour has it though that insurance companies do not cover overland flooding. This was the case less than 10 years ago, but now insurance companies ARE covering overland flooding. And guess what, Keystone Click does too! Water Protection Coverage is an option, it just comes at a premium.

Well, this is up to you. If your house is atop a “Mountain” in Manitoba, this may not affect to you. But a fair amount of land locations in MB are flood plains and are at a higher risk. Manitoba is FLAT. We are a Prairie Province. Though, not as flat as Saskatchewan where you can watch your dog run away for days..
Manitoba Flood Facts –Taken from the Province of Manitoba Site
Manitobans have been weathering major floods since the early 1800s. In the past 60 years, the floods in 1950, 1997, 2009 and 2011 have caused substantial damage, especially along the Red River and Assiniboine River basins. At the same time, Manitoba’s flood fighting efforts have improved greatly and have significantly reduced the number of evacuations and the amount of damage spring flooding can cause.
We suggest you take the peace of mind route if you think there is even a slight a CHANCE you may have water damage. Get yourself covered.
